The Fox & The Pirate are Jonny Wallis (lead singer of The Newcranes) and Brian Stone. Two acoustic singer songwriters and performers joining forces to bring an infectious on-stage chemistry and the excitement of the alternative festival fields to venues across the country.

As lead singer of The Newcranes (and before that 3 Eyed Fox) Jonny Wallis has a reputation as one of the finest voices in folk rock. Before joining the reformed Newcranes he took 3 Eyed Fox on an incredible journey that has included supporting festival greats 3 Daft Monkeys and guitar virtuoso Jon Gomm. Now also accompanying himself on guitar, his original songs are taking their rightful place on stages delivered by that incredible voice as a solo artist.

Brian Stone is a lively, original singer songwriter known for engaging, entertaining performances. Fun and energetic, with masses of crowd participation. His catchy, original songs strike a chord with audiences of all ages and have gained him a rapidly growing fan base.

Together they are greater than the sum of the parts. A heady cocktail of energy and enthusiasm with a reputation for getting everyone dancing and driving parties on into the night. Both musicians are heavily influenced by The Levellers and the legacy that band has created for quality live folk rock. They deliver a mix of original and traditional songs and cover versions with great vocals, and stomp-driven acoustic guitars. Their successful debut tour in late 2016 was followed up with another full programme of festivals and venues in 2017 and a show-stopping headline set at Beautiful Days Festival. They continued this theme with more festivals and an autumn tour in 2018.

The Fox & The Pirate is a great addition to any venue or lineup.

The point where people become more than an audience and instead become part of the music is such a special thing to see...thanks so much for bringing the magic to us and making it such a memorable weekend”
